Funny how some things can work out.

My return flight SYD-HKG in 5A with business class service cost ~AUD900, ~48,800 QFF points and earned 80 SCs.

Fantastic to see you using those QFFP!

I am trying hard to use them for normal overseas travel.

I am hoping Qantas offers me an upgrade bid in June for SYD-BKK on A330 but something tells me there is Buckleys chance of that happening.

Tasmania is such a great place for long distance driving! Some amazing scenery and better road condition than we had expected. But does anyone actually stick to 100km/hr when signposted? There's either the camper vans/trucks doing 70, or the cars doing 120 in convoy!

And on a related note, are there even speed camera's? I know in NSW we have the triple-whammy (fixed, mobile and police radar), but in over 1000km of driving, we only saw one fixed (in Hobart) and that's it! Did not see one mobile camera, or even highway patrol - do they exist?

There'd be an argument that it's the ones you don't see that are the problem.....

Some years ago we were in Oklahoma city for Easter. There was a factory outlet mall a fair drive away.On mrsdrron's instructions I rang to ask if they were open Good Friday. The answer-why wouldn't we be.

A couple of years ago I was in Boston and Easter Sunday was the day everything closed. The two preceding days were also very quiet.

$5,221 per parking bay is the annual revenue from each parking bay at Sydney airport. Wow that is a bit more than a hundred bucks a week!

Oh yes they have and it turns out the SMH article was absolute c***.Only $1.3 billion in cash was repatriated of which $830 million was a tax refund-don't think anyone else pays tax on tax refunds.

Kate McClymont is only thing good about Fairfax these days ... thank goodness they had the sense not to include her in the 1,900 they culled a couple of years ago.

They are all lower case for me
Referring to the quote of my post. They are capitals (5A, AUD, QFF and SCs) in my post #42799 and capitals in amaroo's post #42801 quoting my post and lower case (5a, aud, qff, scs) in rogerkambah's post #42810 quoting my post.

I guess that is one of the mysteries in life.

More like an IT mystery. The other mystery (for me) is how you achieved your flights - care to enlighten (PM) me please?

Booked an upgradeable return flight SYD-HKG in economy for ~AUD900 back in July during the double QFF points promotion. These flights earn 40 SCs each way and as a Platinum earn 31,200 QFF points with the bonus points.

The upgrade requests to business cost 40,000 QFF points each way and was granted both times and as we were on an A380 I managed first class seats with business class service both times.

That is what I consider a good use of QFF points. Now if only I can do that for future trips.

Great use (and earning) of points.

Sale on again to HKG for September and November for ~AUD970 return in Saver but obviously no double QFF points and 747 for now.

I am really struggling to convince myself to book the A330 to BKK.
