Pushka, all facets of the media are terribly unreliable. Much information is fabricated, manipulated, distorted or just plain wrong - and often deliberately so. More than most people could possibly imagine. The rest is researched and compiled by idiots. Expert commentators are often anything but - so god help anyone who listens to the likes of Kochie for financial advice. Sometimes supposed overnight movements in gold, currency or oil etc. are based on prices which are 2 -3 days old, making them absolutely useless. Worst of all there is often an agenda intended to manipulate public opinion, financial markets etc. so the information they put out often isn't truthful at all.

In any matter that matters materially to me my default position is not to take much notice of anything in the media that cannot be independently corroborated.

Sure, the media sucks. Actually controls us. But where else do you get info like this from? Wot is wrong wiv Kochie?

I was going through my predecessor's desk drawers today. I found a self inking rubber stamp that may get some use. Only three letters: "WTF".

I used those three letters in a text to love_the_life this morning.

Yes, very disappointing to only have 2 formal nights on our cruise Pushka! I have more than 2 gowns

Well, we shall wear one on the night of OUR choosing, wont we. Salacia seems to think it will change and have posted on Cruise Critic so hopefully Cunard reads it.

ABC News breakfast reported "spinal cancer" this morning (it's interesting how it's hard for journalists to get a story right - I suppose either myeloma or melanoma (metastasis) could result in " spinal cancer ").
all of this is factually wrong. max walker actually was dying for quite a while. Whilst out in the middle of the pitch and in the sun, he maintained his body levels of vitamin d but once retired, his levels dropped to ridiculously low levels and his actual cause of death was cRICKETS. Alright, I didn't quite stump you with that one.

How do you get the AFL Grandfinal on computer\tablet in Vienna? (With out financial burden ;))
Anyone streaming it?
Put a VPN and afl.com.au?

They have AFL LIVE FREE as Telstra customer but they have taken the Telstra(Boost) sim out of phone.

I remember about 10yrs ago Sydney got hit by hail storms and my inlaws house was without power for 3 days.

Parents in laws where in their 80s back then and father in law is a insulin dependent diabetic. It wasnt until I told the lady on the phone about their situation did their house get bumped to the top of the repair list and they had power that afternoon. Mother in law didnt want to make a fuss.
Insulin lasts 28days out of a fridge....but then again not in 40degree heat.

For NZ and Bali. We paid for AFL Global pass (or something) that only works on overseas networks. Signed up online and watch it on our IThingys.

Today was always predicted as being the big day. Patawolonga flooding up into drainage pipes. Dams in Barossa flooding. King tide created by the intense low. Also those towers toppled over in winds not as high as today. Forecast for 140 kmh.

Don't we all love football, meat pies, kangaroos and Holden cars........??
