This reminds me, in an inverse sort of way, of a 'Two Ronnies' sketch involving a quiz show where the contestant answered the question prior to the most recently asked one (or something like that)...I guess you had to see it to appreciate it, but it was very clever writing.

I believe it was Mastermind and his specialist subject was "answering the question before last"
