Define early? 0400 hours is early. 0900 isn't.



Totally agree, if arranged in advance and catered and very occasional then possibly acceptable if there is reasonable tolerance regarding working hours. Otherwise it is just time theft by the employer.

Unfortunately my lunch meeting is regular. Yes there is food (just sangas) but its still meant to be my lunch break. I cant then come back to the office and disappear for another hour as my boss will think I'm being slack.

I've been back for 4 days and there's not much discussion. Appears to be very little interest.

I agree. Not a lot of interest.
Many venues are not full. Tickets are still for sale - though not for the popular ones. Businesses thought they would get shot in the arm it’s gone the other way. Lots of people are staying away. In the end it’s past it’s use by date.

Swimming is now boring because it’s so one sided.

Why do you think France and Germany tried to bid for the 2022 Winter Olympics (won by Beijing) and got shut down by the local populace of the designated towns?. Remember Innsbruck Winter Olympics? - it went there after Denver rejected it due to costs and there were demonstrations by its citizens unhappy that it was going to be in Denver.

And Boston refused to agree to be nominated for the 2024 Summer Games as suggested by the US Olympic Committee. The refrain was “Why does Boston need the Olympics to validate it as a world class city when it already is”

So why does the Gold Coast need the Comminwealth Games?

Well my first meeting today was a phone hook-up at 0330, followed by a roadside meeting at 0530, video conference at 0930, and finally a state hook-up at 1000.

Totally over it. Too damn hot. Gardens crying for rain. Bet SAWater are in a for a Windfall from excess water consumption.

We are having the same - hot and no rain. In Canberra Anzac Day is tradionally the day heaters go on, although often you are putting them on earlier than that. Haven’t even thought about a heater this year - not even the floors, which are usually getting a bit chilly by now. Still in summer clothes

Europe is becoming a cot case. Full pension retirement at 50. 30 hour week. Macron is trying to turn it around but it’s getting difficult.

Our experience in Europe has been different to this. Also many of the people we know get very short holiday allowances that really restricts there ability to visit us in Aust.
