Bored, in Perth. Egads man, we have things to do here.

Start off your night right with cheap foreign eats at the Night Hawkers Market, Forrest Chase in the CBD from 1730 onwards. Then go look at showmeperth.com.au to see what else is on over this weekend.

Managed to eat lunch, complete with lots of soy sauce without spilling anything.

Getting a glass of water mid-afternoon and I spill it all over my shirt... I am starting to think I am too old for this, time to retire

Good man, I'm glad you've seen the light. Put down that glass of water and pickup a bottle of wine  ;)

Just watch out for old Bertie!

At home relaxing. Thinking of opening a bottle of wine.

Very thankful that we got these things installed through the house just before Christmas:

May the sky be clear & sun shine long......my 6KW solar system was installed today :D

Recovering now from SWMBO removing stitches from my neck. Slightly disconcerting that she made a bit of a mess of the first one and wasn't able to show it to me.

I know people have been talking about the movie "Flight" on here. As I walked through Leceister Square last night I stumbled across the London premier, the red carpet was rolled out so I assume Denzel Washington was to soon appear.

Wow just watched footage of Australia's first break of the land speed record by Wizard Smith (I hope that's the right name). Car designed around a RAAF "super" V12. Beautiful sound coming from a car.

Idiots I have seen, had a job interview yesterday and they were running late. It happens, so no problems for me. However, it meant I saw the following interviewee. He was wearing jeans. Now if I was on the panel (and I've been on many) that would be an immediate turn off for me.

While it wasn't the highest level job out there, it was a customer facing role so you need to be dressed appropriately and at least one level better than what would be required for the job.

Still, one less person to worry about. :)

Jeans for an interview, well that is an unusual approach.

I was pondering the other day how I'm going to react when the current crop of young people with tatts everywhere make their way into the interview rooms as candidates for professional roles.

Hopefully Glenmaggie's got plenty of water for the Helitacks including 333 ex Heyfield which will be working hard, not to mention the firescans ex Essendon controlling the scene, things get hectic at times!

In case anyone is wondering what assets are in place in Victoria re Aviation:

...
Type 1 Firebombing Helicopters
Helitack Aircrane N179AC Essendon 9500 litre belly tank
...

And that one is off to the east to help out.

I don't get a chance to sleep :!:

Messages from home (and BB) starting at 5am Singapore time. There are major fires in our area at home so everyone seems to want to make contact and say hello.
Looking at the mapping Sale should not be at risk. The fires are in the Glenmaggie and Heyfield areas. Turn off the phone and get a good night's sleep!

Bill - I concur. Time to rest for now......

I'd be more concerned about the northern edge..... Places like the Dargo valley could have good reason for concern looking ahead over the next week or two.

If the fire gets into the high country - it's a long game......

Its already close enough to Licola, not to many places to hide up there and lots of fuel, have a soft spot for the place having done my Duke of Edinborough hikes in the high country including Tali Kargn.

Looks like I keep flying out of the frying pan into the fire.

Not only was i delayed for over an hour getting into SYD but have not had power in our house for over 3.5 hours and the latest ETA on power restored is more than an hour away.

One of these days....

Every air ambulance is grounded hence my current position in the back of a road ambulance
Don't you hate the phone call that go
Phone rings 2350 "Coolumbla it's ken"
.me. Where am I going or what do you want me to do?

Hence why I am oine at 251am

We've got them installed in the sky .. it's just started snowing again and is actually settling on the ground this time :D

Hopefully Mal managed to get out of LGW on time!

Edit: looks OK, lucky! (BA) British Airways 2606 Flight Status

Yep, got away before it snowed. Started snowing while we were in the air (the FAs were worried they were going to have issues getting back).

Plane was very empty. One bloke in J. I was the only person in rows 6,7,8. There was around 15 other people maybe onboard. Luggage upon arival was funny. Belt started. Bags moved out. Within 15 seconds it had been stopped again. Less than ten checked bags.

Yeh, I noticed of all the airports LGW seemed to do fairly well during the day. One of the other many reasons I prefer LGW over LHR...
