First world problem.

Just been told that Im going to my first ever league game today (Souths V Easts, free Members tickets) and the Novotel is booked out so I had to book Ibis.

Allow me to sit in my personal pool of misery.

A very sad way to finish a brilliant musical career which had given joy to millions.

It may be that dementia is claiming another giant, this time a musical one.

AC/DC co-founder, guitarist and songwriter Malcolm Young, whose retirement from the band was announced on Wednesday, has been moved into full-time care in a nursing home facility in Sydney's eastern suburbs specialising in dementia, sources connected to the Young family have said.

Denali I hope " pools of misery " can be fixed. I stayed in an Ibis near Sydney airport and it was ok when everything was chockers. It really wasn't a problem.
Sure it was a decade ago but Ibis would still be ok from what I hear.

A couple of hours for now, game doesn't start till 7.55 and right now I'm recalling fond memories of a caravan park in Albury because there is no way this bed is a king.

On the plus side for some, while lying in bed, I get a nice view of Cathy Freemans bum.

Thank you everyone for your condolence wishes on the passing of my father.

Out of left field - but hey - if you don't ask, you wont find out:

I now have to dispose of his car - 1969/70 ZC Ford Fairlane. Purchased new from Peter Warren Ford at Fairfield. Apart from the obvious eBay, would anyone here have any experience with selling a car of that vintage. Where would you suggest I list it.

"kaputt"... a word you don't hear used very much these days in English speech. Just sounds comical when it is used; no idea why, since the person using such a word more often than not is expressing some form of deep grievance.....

Here in ADL I would list it under Cars of Distinction and collect big dollars assuming a car in good nick. A regular listing would not do that car justice IMHO

Can't help with the car I'm afraid but it's lovely to see you posting and whoever ends up with it will be one lucky enthusiast :)

Well, I've just had a tough Friday at the office :).

Just spent a long day up on the altiplano at around 4500 m (definite mild altitude sickness territory) towards the Bolivian border checking the functionality of the Hertz 4WD on some pretty rough roads in parts.

Bleak, but just sensational with a backdrop of many ancient, but symmetrically-formed, volcanoes plus some spectacular cacti and wildlife in the few locations where water is flowing down from the world's highest geyser field and hot springs.

San Pedro is at about 2000 m, so no altitude issues here.

Dang, it was a long day - I demand overtime :mrgreen:.

I have my sights on a refreshing Chilean Sauv Blanc shortly .

Just on the skybus and there is a lot of red and white on the bus into town.
I made a bit of a travel mistake left one of the credit cards in Perth, the one with more than $100 on it
