Quickly getting back to the infamous A47. Would like to hear from anybody on how the flights went (including any issues on the ground, lounge access etc...) I am not going until May so would be great to hear how the trip went.

Hijack away.... I was referring to a number of threads that were getting a little OT with A47 and my thread was also OT. (your thread was valid however I have no answer for you except you should have been looking a few weeks ago as you could almost hit Platinum with A47. And with the help of family pooling..... good luck

A whole lot of routes have only been scheduled up to Octoberish 2013.

One particularly good route from the spreadsheet (the one everyone seems to have booked) was scheduled up to mid January 2014 in one direction, and late October 2013 in the other.

Perhaps this is the reason?

I doubt there would have been that many people taking advantage of it (the sheet mentioned it was only until June, whilst a quick search revealed it was available further out).

The route is now dead anyway so no one else will be taking advantage of it.

When is the first person around here due to take it? Curious to know how it goes (especially for anyone doing the fly in, turn straight around and head back option).

The key thing with June is that that is when the SC's for rewards deals expire. Anyone booking it for after that date just gets a cheap holiday.

Ah yes good point. Didn't think of that (I may have booked one later in the year somewhere else cause I wanted a holiday not the SC's too ).

Pretty sure first batch if AFFer's going are myself and Lobo76 on the 5th April. BrentH is the 6th April. There are other guys too.

Also another one a bit later with my other half (who was pissed that I did not advise before booking, and as a result, I have to again for a run to WP; and it doesn't hurt my WP re-qual either ).

Agreed but it woudn't be beyond the realms of possibility that they might extend (not that I'd rely on it).

Thanks..... maybe it won't get to the point of Guantanamo... And if it had to come down to a cavity search... That would have to depend on who and what they intend to use for it :mrgreen:

If you do see me checkin to transit airport then that probably be a good sign, any other signs or pictures of interrogation rooms then you guys know what to do, maybe a AFF special on border security. Keep in mind ill be there for a day... Unlike the turnarounds who look more sus.
