The Velocity Status Run Master thread

The lowest fares (getaway) under 750 miles earn just 5 SC these days.

you can do Launceston on the 27th for $105 each way, a total of $210 return earning 5 SC outbound and 5 Sc inbound way - with double SC that totals 20.

Elevate earns 10 SC @$130 each way.

One case where the extra isn't worth it at all considering both flights are on the same calendar day. Unless, of course, you want to take VA one way and another airline back.

Hey guys, some interesting runs available on Hainan Airlines via Xi'an, especially onwards to other cities in China (although you often have to stay a night in Xi'an - free with next morning connection).

For example, 25 Nov 2017 MEL (U) - XIY (Y) - PVG/CAN and returning 7 Jan 2018 for $503 and 140 SCs -> $3.60/SC.

Was having a closer look at that but it seems the long haul component now books as 'T' class which doesn't appear to earn any virgin status or miles.

It has been two years since I jumped on those insane cheap mistake fares to LAX (under $300 return) and now my flying has slowed, and also now self-funded I could be 75-ish SC of maintaining gold come mid-August :-(

Could really use a mistake fare right now.... Short of that anyone have any really good value Status runs ex MEL or BNE? I have time on my side!

Try MEL-BNE-CNS.

Try MEL-BNE-CNS.
This. I'm doing SYD-BNE-CNS with Elevate fares, as SYD-BNE is 15SC, BNE-CNS is 20SC and the SYD-BNE-CNS fares are only marginally more expensive than SYD-CNS direct. I was able to get $440 return in early June however YMMV.

Any other winners out there for Melbourne flyers? Seems like MEL-BNE-CNS with promo code on Elevate is the best around? About $450 ish for 80 SC.

I do miss the old MEL-NTL via BNE. Those days long gone.

Ive been playing around with Delta flights for an upcoming trip, here are some winners I found (USD). They are all in W+ which is Delta Comfort+ (essentially Economy X) and earns as Premium Economy rates.

EWR-DTW-BUF $75usd 60 SC
BOS-NYC-BWI/IAD/DCA $119usd 60 SC
JFK-MSP-ORD $152usd 75 SC
HPN-BUF (2 stops en route) $116usd 90 SC

Hi guys, I'm resigning to losing VA Gold unless I can find 294 SCs by June 4th. Anywhere I can go ex Syd to earn this as cheaply as possible...I can drag +1 along and she can pool to me if that helps :) Master @serfty ?

Some more Delta Winners. Availability is better Tue/Wed/Sat. There is a fare war underway between JetBlue/Delta which is helping drive prices down.

EWR-DTW(or CVG)-ATL-Myrtle Beach $124us 90SC (comfort+)
JFK-ATL-Myrtle Beach $154us 75SC (comfort+)
BOS-Minneapolis $71us 30SC (main cabin)
BOS-Atlanta $70us 30SC (main cabin)
BOS-ATL-Miami $116 50 ac (main cabin)
JFK-ATL-San Juan $166 105SC (comfort+)
JFK-DTW-Burlington $95 60sc (comfort+)

Are there any good runs using SQ? I’m going to be near CGK for a few days and wanted to know if I could use a couple of days to do something like CGK-SIN-x return in SQ J to rack up a couple of hundred SCs or so.
Thoughts appreciated. Don’t have a specific budget in mind but would be interested in spending about a day and a half or two days to accrue as many SCs as possible.

CGK-SIN-HKG return will get you 240SC for around the $1100 mark in J.
