The view from my "office"

I loved the trains in Switzerland. We did the Bernina express, the Glacier express and the Golden pass line down to Montreux. Such wonderful countryside and beautifully kept trains. If you book early enough you can even ride at the very front of the train, as if you were the driver.

We had a Swiss pass that gave us so much access to no only trains, boats, buses and many of the little cog railways. Such wonderful memories!
I remember we'd bought the cheapest tickets and boarded the carriage. It was quiet as it was mid summer. We were in this beautiful carriage all on our own! Then the conductor came along and checked tickets. He said that we were in the first carriage. We clearly looked very concerned. He was very friendly. Asked where we were from and obviously answered Australia. He said, that's fine and simply walked into the next carriage. 😂

I remember along the way we saw all manner of beautiful cars racing along the side of the track. Wondered what the rush was. They wanted to beat us to the next closed railway station. We won, and waved to all the cars as we went past.

I thought that St Moritz was more expensive. We really enjoyed the town centre in Zermatt and walked in and around for hours. Zermatt is meant to be vehicle free but that seems to only apply to IC powered as there are many delivery vehicles. The railway trip up past the Matterhorn is spectacular and if the view is clear the surrounding mountains will use up a lot of data. Enjoy your touring.
I stopped in St Moritz but didn’t stay there and thanks. I’m enjoying being away from that hot weather in Adelaide

A couple of Cruise Critic people on Westerdam doing live reports. Can I use your photo on their report? Or maybe you could post?

And a busy day at Port Broughton jetty SA too.
