I find Avebury, West Kennet Long Barrow and Silbury Hill to be much more atmospheric and interestng that Stonehenge - especially now that you can't get anywhere near the lintels at the Stonehenge Disney world. Ah, once apon a time, when we first went to Stonehenge one could walk around and kiss them!
The museum at Avebury is also very interesting! Avebury is wonderful in the mist and snow of early winters.
