Yeah... it looked pretty much like that again today... the further away you get the worse it looks :(

A Starwood hotel built over a winery, designed by Frank Ghery. Loverly ain't it.:)
The three colour titanium roof represents the grape, the gold top and solver foil of the wine bottle.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts

Thought it looked familiar. Done with off-cuts from the Guggenheim Bilbao, also designed by Ghery? :)

(I think the contents of the hotel/winery would be much more useful then the Guggenheim!)

At Caloundra this afternoon, overlooking Pumicestone Passage:

Tonight the same view with the lights - much prettier:

Most interesting event whilst we had drinks on our 9th level balcony. We had seen kite surfers in the middle of the passage and the last remaining one at 5:50 had fallen off his board and he was making little headway in getting back up (no idea why as the kite hasn't snapped a rope, nor had he lost his board from what we would see). In the end he gave up trying and wrapped up the kite as best he could and started side stroking for the sandbar. He was making little headway so in our concern we rang the Caloundra Coastguard (who had shut up for the night).

The radio operator took the details and my mobile, said he would pass onto the police. We watched him rest on the sandbar and slowly make his way across to the edge nearest us and then get back in to swim the last 100m with his gear.

About 5 mins after he arrived onshore, the Brisbane Police rang to check his whereabouts. They were relieved as it was going to be complex for them to get the Water Police there anytime soon.
