The view from my "office"

The view from my Ohrid office for two days. Lake Ohrid looks far better than my iPad can capture. Great atmosphere last night with free choir concert and young dance groups performing along the esplanade.

This was a typical view during the last week from my mobile office.

I really cannot show how beautiful Ohrid is! Today we went up the mountain to a monastery. The beach up there was sandy and a child care group came to swim.

Later we walked through the Old Town. There is a theatre, pre Roman, from the 2nd century BC when they were built down a slope. Note the street lamps made like the traditional houses that expand over the street on successive floors. The lake around town has smooth, mossy rocks, so surf shoes are useful.

Sorry - not meant to be in the quote.
If that’s where I think it is, did you see the sign re North Macedonia peace talks ? 🙂
No, I haven’t seen any such signs. The official name change to North Macedonia was fairly recent, so they may have been taken down by now. The locals still just say Macedonia, though, when talking about their country. 🇲🇰

@Port Power , See here for a story about setting of the name of North Macedonia and the editing of the sign commemorating the agreement 🙂

Scroll down and you'll see I agree with your assessment of Lake Ohrid and the town

The city of Ohrid (pop. 50,000) and Lake Ohrid were the highlights of the trip, and completely unexpected. Worth putting on your to-do list.
