The view from my "office"

I really cannot show how beautiful Ohrid is! Today we went up the mountain to a monastery. The beach up there was sandy and a child care group came to swim.

Later we walked through the Old Town. There is a theatre, pre Roman, from the 2nd century BC when they were built down a slope. Note the street lamps made like the traditional houses that expand over the street on successive floors. The lake around town has smooth, mossy rocks, so surf shoes are useful.

Never heard of it before, but after seeing these pics am going to add it to the itinerary when MrsDrJ and I (hopefully) get back to central Euro in a couple of years!

A view of my current “office”, Tirana International Hotel, and its replacement “future office”. Same owner, and unknown whether the older hotel will be pulled down. It is a pleasant enough 3 star (they say 4), but it is on the main square and has wonderful views. Setting up for a Ricky Martin concert in the square on July 20th that hotel guests could view and hear for free! The hotel would probably charge to sit out on the restaurant terrace though.

Definitely - and much more in the wider area. I linked to my TR of Nth Macedonia in post 22,590, above.

I think we've felt like this some days...

The boy's first bus ride. Second story on a double decker. He was thrilled for about 5 minutes before I started reading books to him. Eventually i resorted to using the iPad.
