HBA security line and QP. I kept on shouting "but I know @RooFlyer" but they still wouldn't let me go straight to the front of the queue

That's actually not a bad security queue. I posted one from about a month ago where the queue for security stretched all the way back to the other end of the terminal, to the baggage carousels! So think they must have done the right thing and held check-in for a while when you called out.

Names to places if possible, please - I'll be there in a few weeks :) . Wine bar reviews?
You will indeed :) No wine bar reviews I'm afraid as it's not something I partake in, but for the rest......

Alright, here we go....
Flea market just outside the train station. Some very random items, including standalone replacement (very much used) vacuum heads amongst other strange items.
Inside the Piata Centrala market - you can buy pretty much anything and everything there, too.
Cathedral park, with the Nativity of Christ Metropolitan Cathedral in the background. Our (huge) apartment (with separate bedroom, bathroom, entry hall and kitchen/dining area/washing machine that only cost £35/night) is about a 30 second walk from here.
City Hall.
Inside Piata Centrala market, trying a drink of Kvas (non-alcoholic).
Hotel Chisinau - fairly self explanatory! ;) One of the first hotels you come across when walking from the train station towards town. Doesn't seem to get rated very well...
Organ Hall - a performing arts theatre.
One of the many entrances into Piata Centrala market.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Cosmos Hotel, brutalist architecture at its best. Also doesn't seem to be rated very well to stay at.....

Planning to get the Marshrutka from just near Piata Centrala market today to Tiraspol (Transnistria) - about $10 AUD return. I'm uncertain though if Mrs FB will be joining as she's been in bed since 3pm yesterday. Either the 38 degree heat has knocked her (she's good Irish stock after all... so not built for it!) or she's picked up something, somewhere.

Awesome, thanks. Will be very interested in the process to enter (and exit) Transnistria! Am going there with a tour and they say rela-a-a-a-a-x-x-x-x. You can of course score a second 'breakaway republic' in Gagauzia. If either of them stamps my passport, I'm counting it!

I'm going to be at the Hotel Gregory, on Sr Alexi Sciusev, if you see it. :)

It's pretty easy, you just get a paper slip and no stamp I'm afraid as Moldova won't stamp you to exit and enter itself ;)

Apparently it gets interesting if you enter Transnistria from Ukraine and then from Transnistria into, er, the rest of Moldova. The Trans mob don't stamp you in as Moldova, so when you hit the border with the 'rest of Moldova', the locals say - 'hang on, what are you doing in the middle of our country with no entry stamp?
