The view from my "office"

Same here, plus on a few other large roundabouts in France. MrsK would fret, but I just kept doing laps, gradually moving outwards (like a local - indicator on smiling and waving) until I could duck off onto the exit I wanted.

I would do the same when I was driving camping tour mini buses in 1970. When you know what exit to take I never did more than 2 laps but usually only 1.
I never saw any really agro drivers, they usually just slowed down and let you drift across.

I was pleased with myself that it only took me 2 laps to get the right exit at the Bastille roundabout. It is not as bad as the Arc but still fairly hairy driving a left hand drive car for the first time.

Arrivederci Italy and hello New York. Our view from the Conrad Midtown is nothing special so here are some of the sights. The fine weather is following us and we are available for rent as a weather guarantee for your next

Coming to the end of the school holidays so we took the grandkids up to the beach at Alkimos in the northern suburbs. It was 34 C today. They had a big run about in the excellent playground and then splashed around on the waters edge.

For those who know the area, the end freeway is now very close to Yanchep and the construction of the rail extension, also to Yanchep, is well underway. What surprises me is that there are literally hundreds of new houses being built in the north of Perth yet there is still a housing crisis. Obviously they need to build thousands of houses.

The wreck of the eponymous SS Alkimos was much higher out of the water than I have seen it for years. I guess it was a low tide.

The view from our DOH office. Even survived the journey in cattle class, been a good 5 years or so since we've braved that! A nice touch with the F1 logo on dessert. Passport control really busy here, I assume most of the people in line are coming in for the F1 GP as normally it's dead quiet here.

Goes out of the north terminal from LGW so no BA lounge, they use Clubrooms which was very decent with the made to order menu in play.

It's quite warm, but the flight was delayed so landed after 6pm so the sun had already gone down which helps massively and makes it much more bareable. Heck, even Mrs FB (Irish stock) is doing alright at the moment ;)

What I was really surprised at though is just how strong the breeze is, going to be throwing the F1 cars around the track. We've just got back from a walk along the corniche and it was blowing a gale pretty much the whole time.
