The view from my "office"

We have arrived at Lucerne and checked into the “office” for the next three nights: Mandarin Oriental Palace Luzern. My room is on the 6th floor overlooking the Bay of Lucerne, as this section of the lake is known.

Ihave the window open. It’s noisy! Church bells pealing (it is Sunday 6:00pm), ferries hooting and voices from somewhere across the lake. 😆 Where is the serenity? Probably will be peaceful in the night.

P.S. It is actually really quiet now at 6:20pm.

Heading back to Oz after a whirlwind week here in NYC.

My JFK-LAX was temperamental with maintenance issues so was cancelled then bought back with a minor delay but picture a 321 plane load of people running gate to gate based on what the AA staff could tell us. AA were great and had me reserved on multiple options until our flight was given the all clear.

Overall JFK T8 was very easy with flagship checkin then got escorted to the front of security queue past a lot of people.

AA was quite good and now back in familiar territory in QF F. I’d advocate for passing through security in T4 as the connector is very close to QF F. Enjoying the spice of the pork on the autumn menu.

The highlight for us-the "Coonabarabran Cup" was run and won yesterday- volunteers put in huge hours to keep it going

Have become friends with some local magpies in the backyard who now want a feed most morning and afternoons.

Can hand feed mum and dad, but the 2 little ones are still a little shy (pics attached as uploading doesn't seem to work)

Be careful what you feed them as meat, mince etc causes terrible feet and beak deformities in the young. I believe this is due to lack of calcium which they get naturally from eating insects.
