The view from my "office"

Also in Jerez, the Royal Equestrian School.

IMG_3253.jpegI didn’t capture when the stallion kicked out his rear legs in the classic “airs above the ground”.

It was a wonderful show by the trainers. This school trains professional riders, parting dressage. Like it or not, horses are also trained for the traditional bullring.

Was this a SS excursion, or your own endeavour?
It was an included ship excursion. All the shore excursions have been very good, with excellent guides.

One exercise I have never seen a horse do before and doesn’t show up in the second last photo. The stallion holds one foreleg up and pivots on the other foreleg! Amazing!)

(I am posting a travel blog “Dawn to the West” which covers all of them.)

A few from the final day in Amsterdam city.

You can hire your own small boat to cruise the canals.

Narrow entrances like this were fun to watch as the rookies skippers happily bashed and banged their way through.

Saw two collisions in just 15 minutes.

The Ludwigsburg Baroque Christmas Market- Just outside Stuttgart. When our friends picked us up from our, much delayed, train earlier that day we had some gusts of snow on the drive to their house.

My wife at the market with our friends - they are also her very distant relatives.

Me looking extremely inelegant. Both of us are having trouble dealing with gloves, beanies, scarves etc and are continually dropping something
or other when going in and out of the cold.

And from the beautiful to the sublime. The view from our room. We are in the basement. But who can complain when you are getting free room and board. Plus a chauffeur and local tour guide. This is the third time we have stayed with them. We have also hosted them three times in Perth.

Ah:) gloves, coats, beanies, scarves, etc are all part of the theme park experience! :) as is Glühwein!

I had a Glühwein last night and I am sorry but I thought that the only thing it had going for it was that it was hot. I will try the various other versions at the other markets. My wife was far happier with her hot Kinderpunsch.
How was the parking there? We will be driving past in on Thursday so might stop if it isn't too much hassle to park.

Sorry for the late reply for you and Steady but I haven't had a chance to use my laptop for a day or so.

Our friend has an electric car so we parked about 1 km away in an underground parking area where he could recharge his car for free. There was a lot of traffic around and the nearest car parks seemed full. I think if you are prepared to walk a bit you should get a parking space. As you drive into Ludwigsburg there are big electronic signs showing the number of free spots in the various car parks.
