We had the BBQ going for the chicken giblet/hearts + the pork shoulder but they also brought along their own BBQ. It's one of those drums (not sure if hard plastic) on short stilts with open bottom and open top where they have the charcoal on the bottom and they hang the meat at the top then put a lid on top. Slow cooker? Apparently it enhances the flavours better as they do add quite a lot of herbs and spices to the meat before cooking and then eat with dipping sauces.

For anyone that's not been to one of these functions most of the people drinking do not have dinner but they slice the meat into small pieces and eat as they are drinking basically pacing themselves. BBQ started at 5:00pm and we still had meat cooking after 10:00pm.

And these are not real flowers but love the display one of our neighbours did for us.

Next up hopefully New Years Eve. Haven't decided how many we'll invite as there are usually many parties in the village that night.

Holy Moly, when you throw a party, you really go all out! It looks like it was a fabulous night and day.

Rhine Falls, Switzerland.

I recognised the Rhine Falls from your first photo, and it was ten years since I visited there. I think the shallow fall and the building just triggered the memory. Beautiful photos.

We liked Napier when we were there before Christmas - been to NZ many times but never visited. Was only a day stop on a cruise but still was impressed with the place. Your weather looks better than ours was.

Are you on Crystal? If so what are your thoughts on the ship?

At first I wondered about the location as the cars were positioned on the LHD side of the road. When I got to the 3rd photo car I knew we were actually in NZ.

I instantly recognised it as NZ. We had a lovely guided tour there put on by the the local tourist office in 2014.

Yes, I’m on Crystal Symphony. I really like the ship layout as there are a lot of public spaces available. The service is exceptional (better I think than Silversea ) and consistent across all areas of the ship. The trade off for all the public space is that staterooms tend to be in the smaller side.

Forgot to add that Crystal has a promenade deck which I enjoy to be able to walk around the whole ship uninterrupted.

Thanks. It was fabulous. I love seeing people in the village enjoying themselves.

I think my wife is a fantastic organiser. This was all her idea. She planned it all. The caterers, the food we serve, the alcohol, the music, the BBQ, the blessing. Everybody loves our house, my wife has done a fantastic job. To me it's a humble little place I can come and relax for 1-2 weeks.

Rare leisure trip with my 2 oldest boys. The forecast was dire yesterday, but fortunately they got it totally wrong and the Sunny Coast lived up to its name. Will never get tired of coming to Noosa.

2 toilets, could have used the space as a shower, but cabin can sleep 4, so maybe used as privacy to dress.
