Before the rest we checked out the Paris marathon!

And why didn't someone tell me it was the Paris marathon today - totally messed up my plans because I was going to catch the bus somewhere and even the lovely lady at the bus stop couldn't work out why the buses weren't running

After my first plan was thwarted by the Paris marathon, I thought I would walk over and walk on the highline only to find I was on one side of the road and the highline was on the other side of the road and the marathon was in the middle. But people just walked through so I thought well I will too.

The Coulee vert (the highline) was a lovely spot.

The blurb says that there’s a couple of lifts to get up there, but I only found one and of course it didn’t work.

I have absolutely no idea how Paris is going to cope with the Olympics. The Metro is absolutely packed now.

Our digs for the next 4 nights.
Starting off with 2 nights at the Fairmont Doha and then 2 nights next door at the Raffles We got upgraded to a Junior Gold Suite Sea View so a nice place to get a bit of work done

Trenton, NJ. Umm .......... interesting place. The seat of the legislative, but once you wander a few metres away towards downtown it's a rather scary place. There used to be a hotel in town, but it's all boarded up, as are a lot of other buildings/houses around the place. We found an Airbnb, otherwise we would have had to stay across the border in Morrisville (PA), which in hindsight would have felt safer. We went out for a wander and quickly decided to turn around and head back to the more quiet area. We walked over the river to Morrissville also and it felt completely different even though it was only a mile away.


The photos above make Trenton look rather nice. However, we didn't snap any photos of downtown as we didn't want want to draw any attention to ourselves more so than we already were. It's the first time I've seen Mrs FB look physically uncomfortable at the situation (and Mrs FB has been to a lot of places!).
