The view from my "office"

This morning we visited several venues including the fort and the opera house. Vigeland Sculpture Park was the highlight, though. Vigeland’s wrought iron gates are so beautiful. I could have spent a few more hours in the park.

Vigeland made the statues naked so they wouldn’t date. Clothes would have narrowed the time to one year or decade. Naked allows the imagination to see families interacting, loving, playing, arguing. Timeless.

This afternoon we visited the Norwegian Folk Museum, an outdoor museum incorporating examples of centuries of living. And a stave church from the 1700s.

Thanks Port
I am there next month — Oslo (and Vigelund park was paid but sidelined 2020BC)
Really enjoying your commentary

Weather wise, you should be in luck.
It was thankfully. We had the chance to get out and about with the kids and grandson.

A cheap tour, the F4 ferry from Circular Quay to Pyrmont

At the game on Saturday night with the kids, who are Geelong supporters, and their friends who are Swans supporters - I'm neither.

I was going to mention the driver maintaining position in the RHL but I won't.
He was overtaking slower traffic at the time.

Our last night in Oslo before Constellation Journeys takes us to Reykjavik. (Not a travel agent. They are a tour provider like APT or Silversea.). We had dinner at the Fram Museum. Actually on the deck of the ship! After dinner we walked through the lower decks of the ship before leaving the museum. How wonderful!

I hope they served pemmican and hard biscuits!

I didn't see that offered when we were there in 2019 - sounds like a great experience.

Did they do the Arctic seas light show while you ate? very jealous about the Folk Museum, as it was closed when we went past early this year.

Dinner was a private booking arrangement. Guides gave a history talk of the three expeditions prior to dinner. Walking through the ship without crowds was fantastic. There are only 28 guests in our group.

Yes, the film was on each side wall during dinner. Gorgeous! I hope they won’t be the only polar bears I see.

Thanks Port

I could have spent so much longer there. I know the trams and buses for next time.

From the roof top bar, the views are incredible! The convention/concert centre is behind the hotel. Silver Wind will dock on the left pier, right outside the hotel.

This view is from the corridor window next to my room.

And a view from the 7th floor of the grass I see from my room. Nice and quiet with my window open. Sorry, no car parks anywhere nearby.
