The view from my "office"

I'm actually at the Holiday Inn beside the IC.

The traffic is normal for Bangkok. You can walk from Chit Lom to Siam BTS on a raised walkway. It was absolutely packed this evening especially when you got closer to Siam.

I think it will be a good place to avoid tomorrow evening.

I was on Si Lom Road one New Years Eve just before midnight after visiting the night market earlier

I’m not easily frightened but came near a panic attack, a solid moving mass of humans shoulder to shoulder and you had to just go with the flow. No chance of deciding where you wanted to go. The advantage I had in some way is I’m 190cm and could see above the crowd.

Did the three and half hour trek yesterday up the Hume on the way Rutherglen. Traffic was constant and rest stops busy in both directions. We drove to Rutherglen via Chiltern, a nice little country town and grabbed a bite to eat at the Chiltern Bakery. Not a lot on offer, had been a very busy morning according to staff.

Crocheting is a big activity and pastime in Chiltern judging by the crocheted Christmas decorations that lined main street! Mrs Nut is a pretty good at crocheting and said the work was really something.

Lunch done and it was time to do what we came here for: wine tasting! First stop Olive Hills Estate for a tasting, nice range, no pics sorry. Next stop, Morris Wines (est 1859) who specialise in fortified wines.

Fortified wines are sooo good....

Then Jones Winery & Vineyard (est 1860) in Rutherglen for another round of tastings.

We were careful with our tastings to keep under the limit and this was the last of the vineyards we had to drive to. Checked into the Poachers Paradise Motel (recommend) and walked down to De Bortoli's in Rutherglen for the last round of tastings for the day.

Dinner last night was at the Star Hotel (don't shut the Star!) followed by an awesome sunset as we walked back to the hotel to have a crack at the Morris Classic Muscat. Can see why it's won so many awards.

So thats what the inside of a guitar store looks like? Ive only been in two and and he walked away with a Les Paul and a rare Flying V so I tend to avoid them, although Mr Denali is campaigning for a USA visit to Martins
Guess it's this bit about the shop being open to the public that is a worry @Denali

National Gallery of Victoria yesterday. Yayoi Kusama exhibition. Unfortunately all tickets for the day already sold when we got there. I had checked on line at the end of last week and heaps available so thought I would be smart and use our NGA reciprocal rights for cheaper tix and buy tickets at the gallery - LOL - won't do that again! Will go down to Melb again to go to exhibition.
It did leave more time to shop and I did pick up 2 pairs of shoes at Peter Sheppard.

A friend owns a neglected Martin acoustic handed down decades ago from an old uncle. I'd guess it is earlier than 1950's, alright I think it could be 20's. I keep hoping she does not make the mistake to fix it up.
