But they have exactly what I need to keep me happy :p

Must be a better reason to promote Sydney? :)

Tried and true for more than 200 years. Many ex-poms were offered the chance of scenic views over the tank stream with no up front travel costs.

I guess they don't have fish and chip shops in Canberra?

Nice pix!

The funny thing with Canberra fish is that it is caught off the coast, sent to Sydney then to Canberra so it is a couple of days old before it gets to the stores.

When I worked in Canberra and had to go to the coast for a work trip a visit to a fish and chip shop and then having a meal on the beach was always on the agenda.

There is a good pub in Pest (which is actually on the right as you look at your beautiful photo) about 500 metres off the Elizabeth Bridge (foreground). Buda is the hill to the left.

This was actually the view in my office a couple of weeks ago - did give both Mrs QF WP and me a laugh:

The first two were views from my father's office 23.8.1918. The last is the Australian War Memorial at Villers-Brettonneux. Fortunately he survived it. Many didn't. Lest we forget.

Unless you had a set of skis attached to your feet, drron, that looks far too cold to be comfortble (declared whilst typing in the DRW balmy heat)
