The view from my "office"

Time for an afternoon drink.

I have to ask BB ... what the heck is that sitting on the table??

Is it a bottomless glass of red or a cunning plan to store excess wine in a sculling competition ... and why have an insulated screwdriver sticking out the top? Not even the maggie can work it out! ;)

PS - by the look of the horizon, you may be on to your second, or third, or ...

Not quite bucket list, but long awaited and anticipated office view.

The Menai suspension bridge joining mainland Wales to Anglesea Island. Finished in 1826, and an engineering marvel. Not a river below, but the fast flowing, tidal Menai Straits.

I remember being rather impressed when we visited about 18 or so years ago

QF int Perth renovating for the PER-LHR flight........... jokes! Renovating because they need it!
Can't wait until the NZ lounge opens.

p.s. I don't know how to rotate the last pic but it didn't come up like that on my computer! Can some smart tech mod upright the pic?

I must try out this hotel on a future trip to Canberra. It is Hotel Hotel next week after I was a little under-whelmed by Hotel Realm last time.
I have only stayed at the Realm once, and through no fault of my own ended up in a two level suite with fully fitted kitchen and laundry. I think I could have hosted the United Nations around the dining table.

Perhaps not the right thread...but...there was nothing wrong with the hotel. I landed up in a suite (but single level and inability to host the UN :) ). I thought the breakfast was average. Room was a bit noisy (turned out above the loading dock). On second day, do not disturb light was on, yet house keeping just ignored it. Small things. just figured I'd check out the competition for future stays before I settle on a favourite.

My office last week was out bush somewhere south of Kalgoorlie. Beautiful sunrises. Interesting beetles. Golden orb-weaver spider (the silk is a very bright gold colour which isn’t fully evident in the pic).

Today's office. The Hakutaku from Tokyo to Kanazawa.

Excellent fun.
Just a pity our failure to communicate - with each other - means we just paid $240 for a hotel room we should not have needed.
