How long are you in my neck of the woods?

Looks excellent. Always wanted to eat there but never got around to it when in Melbourne. Must put it back on the list. If you get to Hobart, do try Me Wah. Fabulous and rated higher of at least equal to FD.

TBH I was underwhelmed when I ate there. Maybe it was dish choice - but we did have about 6-8 between us but it just didn't do it for me.

Today's views are brought to you with one particular AFFer in mind. But who doesn't love a red fire truck? They appear to still be operational

What about the siren?. A LRFT (little red fire truck) is nothing without a proper siren

Dining in Melbourne at Flower Drum. Anyone who has lived in Melbourne probably knows about Flower Drum:

How far ahead did you have to book?

It was lunch - which is no problem to book (except Sundays). Dinner can get booked out weeks in advance.

We had the Autumn Tasting Lunch at $45.00/person. It was almost the same as here: Lunch Banquets - Flower Drum

The atmosphere and setting is beautiful. The service was very polite but glacially slow. The 2 courses took about 90 minutes!

Of the 6 dishes presented, 4 of them were excellent. Those were the Peking Duck, scallop truffle omelette, blue cod and lamb cutlets. The included fried rice and seasonal vegetables were fine - just nothing very special. All were small serves (you can see from the photos) but just right for lunch. They offered a plate of excellent almond cookies after the meal.

'Aspire' Lounge office at MAN T1. The full bar is open at 7:30am, but I didn't inhale :).

They should aspire to wi fi speed above crawling.

Food looks great! Including some of my favourites :)

When I was last there (for dinner about 3 years ago) the service was fantastic... subtle, efficient and non-obtrusive.. (unlike this chatty thing we have going on with western restaurants lol).. could depend on the company.. I didn't notice the speed at which the courses arrived.. I did notice the discretion and privacy.. complete with "not having to ask" beverage top ups :)

Lunch at $45 sounds like good value.. might have to organise to go there again with that Certain Someone :)

View from my Embassy Suites office for the next few days at Huntsville Alabama.

This place rocks. What's not to love about space, bbq & beer?
