The view from my "office"

Popped into the National Zoo this morning as there is a new baby siamang. Daughter had some lovely photos of it a couple of weeks back so thought I'd have a look. It is very cute but needs to hang on for dear life as mother swings herself round the enclosure. Daughter noted that it is much larger and more active than when she first saw it.

Decided last week to switch from an AirBNB in Hiroshima to a hotel. The wife found a room at the Rhiga Royal. She appears to have done a decent job.

What prompted the decision GarrettM?

Convenience of having certain needs met by others really. Our AirBNB in Tokyo was great location wise. But dealing with rubbish was a big issue. Especially nappies. We had to keep dumping them at train station bins.

Hotel solves that for us. Plus some other things. Using a cot for example.

We've always had great success with AirBNB, and am happy to recommend it to anyone but with child it seems hotel is just a little easier. For now.

The entry to today's office at Miyajima. Luckily we beat the low tide. By the time we left the "floating gate" was more of a sandpit.

Sitting on the floor in our ridiculously small room at Canal City Washington in Fukuoka. The bright blur on the left is the baseball, where the Hanshin Tigers have just taken a 2-1 lead over Yokohama in the 6th.
It's on mute, because if you can make out a dark bulge on the right, that's my sleeping toddler, who finally went down after another epic performance of recapping the days events and attacking mum and dad physically.

And thankfully the stupidly loud light show right outside just finished, and it's quiet again.

After the Rhiga Royal we've really fallen on hard times.

When I saw the Fukuoka Lounge had an automated beer pourer I had to give it a try, 8:00am be buggered. None of the businessmen seemed to worried about the time though.

Pourer needs to be recalibrated though. Lot of head.
