The view from my "office"

The view from our room, immediately below is Sao Bento train station.

In the background, we wandered over but the boss didn't want to do a tour, had a look at the stuff in the entry and that's about it!

We moved offices today. Minimalist now. So we bade a fond farewell to our neighbours - The Ladies of the Night and put most of our product into storage for later use.

This was my morning. Office via truck to storage place. This had to be unpacked - by me alone -

as there was no one else to do it.

A few hours later - order restored. All items catalogued and stock counted.

8 office moves since 2000. Not that I'm counting :o
Between 1993 & 1999 I was involved in moving about 3,500 staff around the Sydney region, including 2 moves for my on team. I was only doing the IT side, but not something I would ever want to do again.

As part of this move we migrated from our own server to the cloud. And moved from a Telstra land line service to VoIP. Been a few teething issues but pretty much within a week they were sorted.

Oh boy now I feel old. I remember snow falling and settling in Burnie. 30-ish years ago seems about right.

I can recall snow falling on the Gold Coast (well Springbrook) in 1984. I was installing riser mains at the Ramada Hotel which was right at the top of the building and all exposed (totally open at the stage). The wind was howling through and I had every piece of ski gear on that I owned and I was still freezing. We were sent home at lunch time.

Came across this photo of the Ulysses AGM site on my Facebook thread. I have had to get used to waiting to cross the road when downtown!
It has been a big event for a town of 6,000 people

Specially for Cossie, view from Burbury Close this afternoon/evening for the ceremonial start of the National Capital Rally :) (The guys in the last photo are car-less as their team is working on the car trying to get it ready for tomorrow's racing so they did a ceremonial 'walk off' rather than drive off!)

Thanks! This rally was meant to be run in September, and this weekend in Qld as part of the Asia Pacific Championship. They pulled the pin, Canberra stepped in and it should be some good publicity for the region. I was meant to be there, but don't get home until Sunday night.

Thanks again. :)

Different departure angle over Adelaide this morning showing Adelaide Oval, SAHMRI and the new RAH.
