Not sure about those people standing on the temple - looks mighty high and not particularly culturally appropriate IMO.
The balloons though look like something else altogether. Fabulous!

Fuel leak all sorted then

Must say it was lovely that we had the 44 for the Christmas run, they were all the rage on the main south back in the 60s when I first started seeing them around.

All sorted and will be out and about in 2015. :D

He has just in the last week moved to Junee to build a larger railway, suburbia just not big enough.

I called past a couple of days ago as I wanted to give my granddaughter a look before they moved, and the locos were still there. I will have another look tomorrow. Pete is a great eccentric, with an encyclopedic knowledge of NSW railways. It was his School Railway Club journal, printed on a Gestetner, that first got me interested in all things railways. Never forget his photos of the W44 concentrate trains with double-header Garratts.

No way of keeping the smell of smoke out of your home in Adelaide today.

re: The view from my "office"

Thanks, did not think of the F111. Was the photo taken in Australia or the USA (the only two nations to have used the Aardvark, but Australia used the F111c)?

Australia had F111Cs and G's, the RF111C is on display in Adelaide at the Aviation museum, serial number A8-134

Looks fantastic drron. My view this morning is not do picturesque - office buildings that are to be demolished! It will be noisy when they really start!
Those who know Woden might recognise them.

Update: there was a truck there this afternoon and they were dropping large lumps of concrete into it; sounded a bit like thunder. Happy times ahead I think (not).
