The view from my "office"

QF1578 flying in to MCY - it flies into the Sunshine Coast at 18.15 each afternoon - and crosses the coast usually very close to our house - this photo taken from our patio. The plane and crew stay overnight and it becomes QF1579 departing at 06.35 the next day. I will be on that flight on Wednesday - the first of my 3 flights that day to get to LST.

My daughter lived in a flat where the bird's (Stork's?) beak is pointing (Hanbury St). The Stork and the fellow hanging upside down (obscured to the left of the Stork) are two of the best pieces of street art I have seen around London.

I wish I'd gone further then but sadly leaving London today and heading home next week. Plus I walked into a barrier walking home last night and can hardly walk and if you can't walk in London then you're stuffed.

More of Persepolis - I'll spare everyone the history (and the context), but abt 5th century BC (correction from before! - thanks to JohnM :)) and very Persian.

Capital Griffins!

Nearby was a superb bonus I wasn't expecting - the Necropolis of the rulers of the time of Persepolis. Not quite Petra, but the rock is a bloody sight harder! Tombs of 4 kings here (4th off to the right)

Usurped Roman Emperors (one being ?Valerian?) paying homage to Shapur I (abt 260AD):

From about 280 AD, showing horse mounted battle between the Romans and the Persians (Bahram II won :) )

My husband is forcing a 1 night stay in Aberdeen, as he has a friend there, so enjoying the photos as I wasnt sure if I wanted to visit here.

If you are able, it is definitely well worth the stay - two nights would be better.

The Silver Darling restaurant at the port is a nice thing to do.

And rice terraces. I’ve seen better in Bali though. It was so freakin hot and humid and so many awful uneven stairs with no rail. And huge step drop. Was totally knackered by the time I got back up and had to sit on a step or faint!
