The view from my "office"

That looks great (although I'm not entirely sure how I'd get back up again). What's the story with the flags? It looks suspiciously like an Aussie flag there. Were they just random, or placed according to guest nationality?
Some appear to be kneeling (ouch). The issue of getting up again (and probably down in the first place) did strike me as a possible disadvantage of the meal though the food looked great.:)

They asked you where you were from (pretty common everywhere here) and then the flags appeared - They did it for every 'table'.

Er, yes. Frankly I was pretty uncomfortable the whole time and certainly didn't want to linger; others were the same. I ate bringing the bowl close to my face, rather than leaving it on the floor which I think is the custom. It was either that or high likelihood of dribbling some of it down my front.

Now, first morning in Shiraz, and I give a RooFlyer going dribbling ga-ga warning:

The Nasir-ol-molk mosque; 19th Century.

I think this was part of a professional photo-shoot (yes, inside a mosque - its not the religious straight-jacket here you might think).

The Iranian King at the time had gone to Europe and brought back latest fashions - esp. pink, so it went into the tile-work in one of his palaces:

Note the western scenes in this painted ceiling and the tile-work below it:

Absolutely glorious day in London today (my last day in London for who knows how long). Brick Lane, Tower of London, Tower Bridge and a stroll along South Bank. I can hear so many fireworks tonight and last night and can't see a single one!

When in Shiraz, I like to relax over a can of heat treated, non carbonated doogh ( homogenised) :)

LOL. Brilliant. Try explaining that to Australian Customs!

I had to google that !!! " Doogh is a refreshing Persian drink of yogurt, mint and club soda. ..."

I would pass on those taste sensations !

My daughter lived in a flat where the bird's (Stork's?) beak is pointing (Hanbury St). The Stork and the fellow hanging upside down (obscured to the left of the Stork) are two of the best pieces of street art I have seen around London.
