The view from my "office"

On Sunday we went dogsledding. The “Green Dog” yard is about 10 km east of Longyearbyen. As there is not enough snow yet they use wheeled vehicles.

Getting the dogs ready.

Off into the sunset we rode. Not really, as it was only 11 am. This is how high the sun rises in early October. By the end of the month it will not rise at all!

After the ride we went to have a look at the puppies and to have a hot drink to recover from the cold. It was -8 degrees, but the motion of the sled caused quite a wind-chill factor.

I appreciate your comments @Pushka and those of @tgh and @JohnM. Mrs jxv used to write about our travels and I used to put that up on our private website for friends to peruse. Now she uses Facebook, also just putting up snippets. I had been wondering how to save those FB posts to construct a more lasting memory.

Writing a TR may be a better idea, but I am not sure I could do it in real time.

Stay tuned...
I've rarely had time to do the few Trip Reports I've done on the move, and wait until I get home. As I work in the technology area, I use an old fashioned hard copy note book and pen, to jot down what I've seen, eaten, wines drunk etc. It lets me piece together the photos of where I took them etc. When I was updating my notes while having lunch in a good little Sardian restaurant MrsK and I had come across, after a couple of chats with the waiter about the food and wines, and making trip notes in between, I suddenly started receiving extra morsels and wines to taste. MrsK who could see the staff was chuckling, and said they seemed to have assumed I was a restaurant critic. It hasn't worked since though

The view from my office for the last 12 hours or so has been my bathroom. I'll spare you the pics! Thankfully it waited till I arrived back home from my 2 week holiday, so glass half full and all that! ;)
Hope you wash that through quick. You know, when you showed your pix of those scallop pies my stomach heaved a little. The thought of seafood pies makes me green. Maybe it was a cyberspace warning.

Of all the times we have been to Tassie - I have never had a scallop pie !! but then I am not a big pie eater !!

Thank you for the upgrade hertz :):)View attachment 139880

There were a lot of these lined up at ADL the other day and the rest of the cars? Pretty much all SUV / station wagon. I got upgraded from my "mid-size" car to a Subaru Outback which I didn't really want, they had nothing else to offer me, not even the original size car I actually booked. Being President's Circle thought maybe they'd offer the Mustang as it was only an 11 hour booking, but nope.

Not sure.. Stopped listening after ".. Mustang" :p:)

I do normally book the SV6 but recently I've had an Audi Q5 and a skoda.. The pony is lots of fun :):)

5L V8 :) Lots of fun :):)

Are you going to give it a country run while you have it? No good just puttering around the city in that baby ;),

It’s a remarkable coincidence that every time I put my car in for service and get a loan car, I end up with important business to attend to at the end of some windy bush roads that very day ;):).
