Taste of the Huon ( Valley, south of Hobart).

Too much quail, mushrooms, salmon and Sav Blanc!

I know you're just building yourself up for that assault on Huayna Picchu RF ;).

Sculpture By The Sea at Cottesloe on a perfect morning today.

Went to Swanbourne beach, one of my usual offices, did the 3 km run to Cott, wandered around the sculpture and then ran back for a swim, sunbake and read for a while.

Exercise, culture and relaxation in one. It’s a brutal life .

24 photos in one post...I'm impressed

Taking to the seas to check out some prominent ships in the Port of Hobart

Hobart 1.jpg

Australian Defence Vessel Ocean Shield - it took part in the search for MH370 and I think about to head south to chase illegal fishers.

CSIRO's new vessel Investigator. Singapore built, Hobart based, it arrived last year with a bit of a problem.

It has been revealed the Investigator, built in Singapore, has a 690-volt electrical system which is incompatible with Hobart’s shore supply of 415 volts.
The incompatibility means at least one of Investigator’s three main diesel engines must continually chug away to provide power, while technicians on board install scientific equipment and prepare the ship for service.

Another delightful day in Sur de Bolívar Department, Colombia. Mapping a small valley. I have lived in Alice Springs and Tennant Creek. But they were deliciously cool compared to this bloody valley :/

re: The view from my "office"

I presume you have seen JohnM's post #1043. Major was impressed that the post included 24 photos, however JohnM notes that they are actually only 4 individual images (as each image is made up of 6 photos in a 3 x 2 format). Easy for me to see, as I can "view" his post by "editing" it (but cancelling without any changes).

re: The view from my "office"

It was all very simple, folks :). Happy to pass on the knowledge if anyone really wants to know.

re: The view from my "office"

I really want to know! I am tired of my obtuse large fuzzy photos :(

Uppy, how did I know it would be you to ask :p.

Easy-peasy: just start a new document in MS Word. Insert picture, hit the spacebar to get a little horizontal separation and resize to about 7.8 cm wide, which gives you two pics side-by-side. Do that three times and you have a block of six pics.

Then open the MS Snipping Tool (it's part of Windows but can be a bit obscure to access - but once you've got it, pin it to the task bar.)

Take a snip of the aggregated pic and, hey presto, you have a single .jpg of the lot. Save it and then post away :).

What is my reward for giving away trade secrets :).

Thanks JohnM.. very much appreciated :)
I'll let you know if I have any trouble with the Snipping Tool.. If I do we might need to hit your cellar and discuss in depth ;):)
And your reward is the warm inner glow of knowing that you have helped out a newbie :) :)
