The view from my "office"

re: The view from my "office"

The promised report on the AFF Launceston sub committee office on Easter Sunday. In true AFF style even though the office was less than 2km from our hotel we first had to drive the 20km to Evandale to visit their sunday markets. Then drove the long way back-

Yes we crossed the Nile river then drove through Perth before meeting up with the Chairman for the day RooFlyer.Naturally all good AFF meetings need to have an ample supply of food.Fortunately Stillwater proved up to the task. The males started with the roasted beetroot salad which was very nice and the female company started off with the scallops-

The main courses were the entrée size pork belly,a ploughman's lunch and Flinders Island lamb shoulder with glazed carrots and smoked eggplant with fetta that I really did enjoy-

The finishing touches were a pannacotta with coconut snow and a lovely crème brulee-

We washed this all down with a Tamar Ridge pinot gris.
Another successful meeting then concluded.
Again with much thanks to RooFlyer for organising this.

Stillwater is indeed a sensational restaurant; struggled through the scraps there several times. I hope RF was overnighting in Launceston ;).

We took it rather easy, all thinks considering. it was a nice leisurely dive south, via Parattah and Woodforde!

That ploughman's lunch was completely artery clogging, so I finished the day shovelling a new layer of gravel over my driveway.

What I want to know is how was it only 12C at 4.42am in your part of the world?? That would be unheard of at this time of year!

I recall arriving in Tanunda in the Barossa Valley at about 5pm on Good Friday a couple of years ago, only to find that there were no bottle shops open! In the heart of a wine region, no wine!

The 12oC was in Melbourne...
Gee.. I would be devastated if I arrived in the Barossa and there was no wine!! That is bad luck!

Yes, I figured it was in Melbourne, but if memory serves me correctly, you live in a particularly cold part of Melbourne!

Maybe the same as NSW where there are no take away booze sales on Good Friday

I wish the quality of the photo was better. Those colours were spectacular.
