Only spent about 3 hours in Tirana on bus tour a couple of years ago. Couldn't get over how friendly and sociable the locals were. Some great little (& cheap) restaurants/cafes a few minutes walk from the bus station.

After Edinburgh we were off to Barcelona for three nights and north to Girona for a Game of Thrones Tour.

Irrespective of religious convictions the Basilica of the Sagrada Familia is a must see to just look at the architecture. Construction started on 19th March 1882 and they are optimistic of finishing it in the next 5 - 15 years.

Took them 28 days, exposed to the weather, no F&B, hard seats, no recline, no aircon.

My grandparents were at the "drome" "(actually padocks back then) to meet them in Darwin. Was a big event with almost everyone attending. Actually grew up living on Ross Smith Ave, which was the old strip constructed some time later, 30s I think, with the memorial at the end they landed
