The view from my "office"

Seeing as there is no overseas travel for the immediate future, can I suggest you all visit WA for our mild winter when the state borders re-open.

Fantastic autumn weather today, calls for a drive out to the Swan Valley for a little history, wine and lunch.

Anyone else like exploring church graveyards ?

Visiting WA for the wildflowers has been on my list and this just prompted me to ask where is the best place. I've started a thread for answers so we don't hijack this one Question - Wildflowers in WA in spring

I think you will be fine with that date. We only have 3 active cases and none are in hospital. If we keep on going like this I think he will lift border restrictions so that WA can capture some of the winter tourism season..

although they may not let in anyone from the ‘naughty’ states !! 😀

Or the Nanny states. Oh wait .......

In the essential traveller stakes SA ranks last.
So I can work in NSW,VIC and ACT without any restrictions.Tas and QLD will let you in with exemption and for the first 14 days isolate in your accommodation but you can go to work wearing mask.NT 14 day isolation before you can work but that 14 days is paid.Same in WA and SA with 14 days isolation before you can work. For me WA says it may pay you for the 14 days but good ole SA says you must pay for that yourself.Fortunately I had already decided I will not work in SA.

MrsK and I were hoping to use the Jetstar flight into Busselton, so fingers crossed. Having spent 10 or so years working in the west back in the 80's and 90's, I hope that will work in my favour to being able to be let back in.

Not too many people around in Henley Beach today - in fact when I went onto the jetty I was the only one on there. @Pushka wasn't impressed with F&C from stunned mullet. Nice man but didn't like the chips

The fish? Chips are great at the takeaway on the Square but I can’t justify two different stores. I think the chips grow on you. I agree with the assessment but the fish won for me.

I had flathead which was OK but not great for the price - mind you I have fish and chips so rarely now it will take me a while before I try somewhere else

I am muy picky these days and mostly only eat wild caught au barra.
The local fish shop has au coral trout ; I was sure it was a con, but it seems it is not and having tried it , their coral trout is my new normal.
I am not sure where our shop is finding it but gee it's nice stuff.
Wild caught Coral trout (when they can catch it) is usually 100% shipped to wealthy countries like China and Japan, we cannot compete on price.
Many years back we fished the ribbon reefs south from Cairns , so sad to see the massive refrigerated mother ships trailing strings of dozens of tinnies.
They were hand fishing everything that could swim from the reefs…….and folks complain about the coral..

Their basic flake is the best! Had flathead and it was nice but not at the price. I'll post pictures Sunday to keep it OT,
