Definitely worth a visit if passing through for the tasty and unhealthy food, but more so for the wonderful walk after to work off those calories!

One last hurrah before lockdown kicks in again.

Wringing the neck out of the East Midlands until lockdown starts. Fairly obvious office yesterday, but for those who can't put 2 and 2 together...... it's Sherwood Forest ;) Lots of nice autumn colours and interesting looks mushrooms all over the place! There were some nice trails to hike, we did the Wildwood Trail.

Outlaw tree - the major oak was a perfect place for outlaws to meet, pass messages and store supplies.

Wow @Flashback thats some stunning countryside ..... I love your photos!

Thank you! Last day, today, before lockdown. However, given I'm already on holidays the regulations that are to be tabled in parliament today do indeed allow me to see out my holiday and then return home. We're off to the Peak District today (stopping via Matlock, Bakewell (mmm... Bakewell tarts) and Chesterfield (used to work up there, so a quick walk to show my wife the crooked spire!) on the way to the hotel just between Chesterfield and Sheffield) and will be doing some hiking, so completely outdoors and zero interaction with anyone so don't feel there's any issue there and still lies within the spirit of the regulations. Once we then drive home on Friday, that's it and we're in lockdown.

@Flashback we were in the Peak district last year in September.
We visited the church at Chesterfield with the crooked spire. So many great cafes and tea rooms there. We rented an Air B&B near Matlock. So many great hikes in the area. I loved walking through the farms and countryside ....... bringing back lovely memories. I'm not sure I'd get Mrs FB there though 😉

First stop today, Matlock. Amazing autumn weather, colours and views. Made a start on restocking our sloe stocks too @VPS 😁
