At the risk of being scolded by mods..
Not being an abalone aficionado how do you know which slicing plane is horizontal or vertical? Is there a “this way up” sticker or something? If I slice diagonally does it ruin the dish?

Loved my Gold Coast office on the weekend. Sunrise from my bed in Hilton Surfers Paradise. I’d be at work super early every day if this was the view

@Princess Fiona, I match that with the view from my actual office in Conakry, Guinea (rather than my sleeping one ). Sunset is often a good reminder I should wrap up what I'm doing and head back to the sleeping office... But still, good views make it worth the long hours!

Given the Gold Coast is 10 hours ahead of Conakry there's a fair chance you were both watching the Sun at same time, albeit from different sides of the World.

That museum is spectacular. My nephew who was in the Navy at the time had his wedding reception there. He was in ‘dress whites’ and he and his gorgeous bride had some stunning photos taken there.
