Having our morning coffee, overlooking the Hunter River at Maitland. The river level dropped 2 metres just last night, and 5 metres the day before. You can see how high it got by the marks on the far bank. No wonder the locals were nervous.

The far bank pictured used to be a veggie farm.The farmer was a good friend of ours. Used to have a contract with Smiths chips. When I wanted to rid myself from stress of work I would go and help harvest spuds,caulies a or cabbages. Sadly both he and his wife died before we left Maitland 30 years ago.

It sounds crazy to say that a 0-0 draw was an exciting match, but it was very exciting and a great spectacle. The EPL Champions held, and Palace had several chances to steal a win. The Ukraine national for City, Zinchenko, got a warm round of applause when he came out from the entire crowd. Quite a night!
