Going back under the Tasman Bridge. The asymmetric spans are because in the gap is the sunken bulk ore carrier Lake Illawarra, which hit the bridge in 1975 and took out two piers and 3 spans.

Dad worked for, and we were accommodated by, the Electrolytic Zinc Works, back in the 50s. Had friends with a boat who used to take us out on Regatta Day, but no Tasman Bridge back then. Enjoyed the pics.
EZ recently announced a major refurb! Will be going for a fair while yet.
 
Having our morning coffee, overlooking the Hunter River at Maitland. The river level dropped 2 metres just last night, and 5 metres the day before. You can see how high it got by the marks on the far bank. No wonder the locals were nervous.

There have been a lot of flood mitigation works over the years and, thankfully, they've made a huge difference.
