The view from my "office"

So it’s Sunday - what to do? We decided to go and visit one of my favourite Pinot Noir wineries, Sailor Seeks Horse. I first posted about them about 2016 when we found them at the Dark mof_ Winter Feast.

It’s a bit of a hike ( an hour) to their place near Cradoc:

Another place that doesn’t have a cellar door so we had to rely on the signs put up for the weekend 😊

I think that’s it …

Ah, yes, the ‘cellar door’

And the facilities:

So @JohnM , you can see Why I was unimpressed with those Margaret River joints you dragged me around 😎

Besides their about-to-be-released Pinot, there were 2 Chardonnays (low oak) and a 'methode ancienne' sparkling of mixed heritage.

Pinot was excellent and I bought 1/2 dozen @ $60 ea and even a $55 Chardonnay. @TheRealTMA would be proud ( or not 😊).

As you can see from the car park, some pretty high flying customers today

We didn’t do any more wineries - what could top that? So went into the Cygnet market, which is great if you are into organic wool or this sort of crowd:

Stopped at the Margate train ( there has never been a train service anywhere near Margate)!

Then back to my friends place.

All in all, not a bad weekend:

A most special view today for myself as I watched my niece perform as "The Duchess" in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland as a cast member of the Australian Contemporary Opera Company, at Opera Australia, Southbank, Melbourne.

She also had a second role as "The Bottle".

It was so good to hear her beautiful voice in such a show.

It is marvellous to have live performance back, and especially so for my niece as she was just starting to try and emerge in her field when the pandemic hit and so this has been her first professional company. :)

A rather sombre experience for our second day in Łódź. It's a little bit of a hike out of town, but a must do while in the area. The history surrounding it is very saddening.

Everyone should visit one of these Death Camps at least once in their life.

My wife and I visited the Mauthausen Concentration Camp as part of our 9 day cycling trip along the Danube River and as it was Anzac Day we wanted to mark the day in some way.

Emotive is an understatement of the horrors revealed in the visit.

Lest We Forget. And moreso when what is happening in Ukraine at present would seem to indicate that evil will keep returning to this world.

It felt strange paying big city prices again after having been to some interesting local places in Łódź and Wrocław, but it was still less than $15 for all of that!
