The view from my "office"

A few from around the lakeside office.

First up, the view across Lake Wakatipu to Cecil Peak.

And a stunning contrast with some people making do with what they can in the centre of town…

Queenstown, New Zealand.
Nice pics @Captain Halliday reminds me of my (first ever & sadly, the last) backpacking trip to NZ back in 2015 .... #BringsBackMemories

I didn't want to state the obvious ...
Edit: Oh sorry, on re-read I see you were serious. I think the other fella looks like to head honcho himself, AJ.

AJ is the only one I thought I recognised, I didn’t want to be too obvious taking the photo. I asked the desk, but they said, sorry, can’t tell you.

I meant the fella on the left.
Your fella on the right must think he is important too judging by the hands clasped behind the back.

It looks possibly like a pink variant of a paper daisy in bud form (some kind of helichrysum?).
I think the plant looks like the paper daisy but the flower is very ornate for one but there are so many species

The close-up made the flowers look larger and more fleshy than they are. It does have more whorls than the classic everlasting daisies also shown. It is also something that is not very common compared with the latter.

@JohnM i didn't see any wreath flowers Mingenew/ Coalseam / Mullewa / Geraldton today. Should they be somewhere around Geraldton? Have a couple of hours tomorrow before I take the rental car back.

I'm not aware of any closer to Geraldton than the major site at Pindar, east of Mullewa. It's well signed. Head north on the Tallering road about 12km IIRC (no more than 20km).

It may be too late and it's a fair back-track from Geraldton.

Edit: wreath flowers are not something you just stumble across. They are rare, but in well-known pockets that people bee-line to.

Thanks - drat. There were a couple of signs on buildings with wreath flowers around Mullewa, but nothing to indicate location.

Pindar wreath flowers OK a week ago; might have to wait till next time ... News Story - Wildflower Report 2022 » Visit Geraldton
