The view from my "office"

Does the light show happen every night? I’ve been to Vivid, so I know about that specific event.

Reason I ask is that we’ll be in SYD overnight on Monday 7 November and debating whether to stay in the city or at the airport.

PJM hasn’t seen a light display on the opera house, so if it’s on, we’ll stay in the city.

Answering my own question. I see that the light show is only 17-30 October.

It’s part of the opera house 50th anniversary. Due to finish 30 Oct not sure if it will get extended , link below

Strange route home. Never seen Emirates fly all the way over the Indian Ocean to Perth then to BNE.

Emirates flights were excellent, good food and wines and very smooth.

Unfortunately MrsTMA tripped and fell over in airport after landing and sprained knee and wrist. :(

Vienna this morning. A lovely, sunny day. A walking tour this morning but using the metro into the old town.

Now I have to find out how two AFFers who are once again docked together can meet? 6:00pm at the park benches by Jewel’s bow?

An end of an era Saturday evening (23/10/2022) as the Spirit Of Tasmania ferry departed Station Pier Port Melbourne for the last time. The Spirit has now moved to a new facility in Geelong. The current ferries are also due to be replaced in 2024.

Spirit of Tasmania II loading cars and RVs on the top level:

From water level: cars up top, semitrailers through the bow doors:

Lots of long triple blasts from its horns (triple blast indicates reversing on ships and trains) as the SOTII departed Station Pier, the seagulls having a last feed on the waters churned by the reversing ship:

More Vientiane from Ibis. Surprisingly good breakfast. Standard Ibis room, but certainly ok for the end of the trip.
When all this was booked, I couldn’t get direct flights to LP from Bangkok. It is possible now, hopefully it stays that way.
