The view from my "office"

Looks to me like a raft of Shearwaters (mutton birds) heading south but a little early. Usually late September or October. But that looks exactly like.
We saw many such rafts when at Norfolk Island. They stay on the water and head onto land and their burrows after sunset.

Happy Anniversary to The @Bindibuys 🎉

From a distance, this initially looked like some form of debris.
I made that error once. After a night storm, I noticed a bunch of debris on the water in the distance put binoculars on it but couldn’t make much out so I reported it to police. Of course it turned out to be a raft of seabirds. 🙄
