Another drive, went to see a place we stayed at last time and these guys were at the river. Luang Prabang. Also a small truck came collect some produce to take into town.

Down another road we saw these elephants being used as a ladder...

This the main road north, the new train line can be seen as well. Potholes!!! I would hate to be a truck driver here.

Some may remember the issue that we had in Vientiane 2 years ago, well this is the hotel after!

We stayed at the Ibis again, next door would have been ok if they had spelt my name correctly. The green building is where we used to go for pizza, completely rebuilt as well.

View from today's floating office. I thought I had it hard when i had to reverse onto the Sealink ferry, then these guys showed up and backed their animal transporters on and made it look easy.

My London office for next 7 days🍻View attachment 414934

I'm guessing that's the Hilton Garden Inn at LHR? I've heard good things about it from a colleague, although would be curious how convenient it is for someone transferring at Heathrow? In the past my go to hotel was the Premier Inn London Heathrow Terminal 4 (this was back in 2019/2020), where the rate was often in the £35-£40 range per night and it was directly connected to terminal 4. Now granted, at the time I was a Star Alliance flyer (meaning I'd have to depart out of Terminal 2) but that was always a quick and free transfer on the London tube.

As yes, LNER, one of my go to trains I would be taking back when I was studying in the UK and could enjoy cheap "domestic" flights to Europe and the US. With my student discount I could often go one way between York and London for £11, although there were a couple of occasions where I could travel between the two cities for £9 on Grand Central.
