The view from my "office"

My office yesterday - Southern Tablelands Gliding Club at Carrick, country New South Wales. It's been too long since I got back into gliding, so yesterday was my first foray in a while. A bit rusty I must admit, but a couple more check rides and I'll get there. I made it hard on myself by flying in a type that I've never been in before, a SZD9-Bocian. I had to blow the cobwebs out, get to understand the glider and coordinate myself (skidding all over the place at the start). Unfortunately, despite the good look to the day, there wasn't the lift to extend flights, so I had to be content with short hops off the winch.

Down at the flight line with the pie cart, setting up for the day

A launch later in the day - you can how much the weather has changed

Now, to get back there regularly while the weather is still good.

View from my “office” arriving in Santos, Brazil, this morning. 28C and very humid. Light cloud cover should clear later. Australians are going to meet up at 6:00pm for a celebratory beverage, then order lamb chops for dinner. (There was a delicious roast leg of lamb at the lunch buffet yesterday, so I celebrated early!)

I am doing a tour that incorporates the coffee museum and fishing museum, as well as gardens and downtown. Then there is plenty of time to do our own thing as the ship doesn’t leave until 6:00pm. Thanks for the suggestions.

AUS Day office on the water onboard the Cadman for a three lunch cruise. What an absolute belter of a day! A bit overcast at first but the weather came through. The boat itself was a sketchy party vessel but food was great, beer and wine were fine, plenty of everything. The boat wasn't packed unlike most of those departing Barangaroo so scored a great seat.
Departing Barangaroo, people everywhere!

HMAS Choules on the harbour..IMG_20250126_130416655_AE.jpg
One way to get the small craft to stop as Choules returned to port; flood them!

Quick wave to the water coppers...

Now this is a pleasure craft!

There regular ferry service must get through! Ferry's dodging all the on-water matters.

What sight!
