The Virgin Australia Newbie Questions Thread

Are there showers in the Virgin lounge at BNE?

I think there is premium entry for VA at BNE? If yes, can you check bags that way? If no, is there a premium security lane after VA check in?

Carry on only, if you have checked baggage go to the regular checkin, then you can either go via regular security to the lounge, or exit and use the premium checkin: Lounge premium entry | Virgin Australia

Dunno about showers.

Thanks. Checked bag this time but future flights will be HLO. Going to have a few HBA-BNE-HBA hereonin as family members moved up here.

If I book a cash flight in economy on VAs site operated by SQ, can I use Velocity points to upgrade to Premium if VA is showing Premium reward availability?

I don't believe so
Thats what I was worried about. Pity you can't even use SQ points on a VA ticketed flight when flying SQ metal :(
Another question, what is the fare class that gets booked on short-haul international business REWARD flights?

How long does the Status Review period go for?
My WP review was 12th Feb & still under review. I managed over 1800+ SC's with some help from family pooling, but it's been 11 days now, not that it matters or I'm concerned, just don't remember it taking this long in past years.

Thanks in advance.

Morning all - I recently started accumulating points for Velocity and I was wondering if anything had used their velocity points to fly with Singapore Airlines. Looking to fly to Japan later this year!

Many times. Often good availability ex ADL and BNE but TBH I find the A350 product quite average but it’s still serviceable

Thanks for your reply - do you know how I go about transfering my points so that I can fly with Singapore Airlines? I have 75k worth of Velocity points right now and would like to see how many more points I need.
