So I am on the brink of being upgraded from Silver to Gold, with a future trip coming up but am curious if all the SC on the flight that gets you to the next tier, go towards the
next tiers Maintain credits , or the excess essentially get wasted/dropped?
Let me explain with a couple of scenarios to keep the math simple:
Scenario 1:
Lets say review date is 31/03/2023 with 3/4 Sectors and sitting on 499 SC
Now if I took a BC family pooled flight with myself/partner on 20/03/2023 worth 55SC each for a total of 110SC.
My understanding is that the eligible sectors
are not pooled, only the Points/SC.
No probs, this will bring me up to 4/4, upgrade to Gold and new review date of 20/03/2023 right?
However what happens with the SC's here after the upgrade to Gold:
- 0 Maintain SC's for Gold (i.e. 109 SC's were wasted)
- 55 Maintain SC's for Gold (i.e. Only my 54 excess SC's were wasted but partners were pooled)
- 109 Maintain SC's for Gold (i.e. All 110 SC's were attributed to the next tier, 1 used to get to Gold).
Scenario 2:
Lets say review date is 31/03/2023 with 3/4 Sectors and sitting on 600 SC.
Same flight as above.
Do the excess 100 SC essentially get wasted/reset when achieving gold when that final flight triggers the next tier? Further what about the actual flight that gets you across the line to the next tier. Do those SC's just vanish?
