The Wine Spill

I have been near water spillages ,FA very apologetic .Pax not making an issue of it though. With regards to red wine I guess if it has stained and happened early in a trip making pax endure the sticky situation then some sort of compensation is not unwarranted.

Maybe wine glasses could be slightly longer and tapered ,then not filled completely making it harder to spill.Glasses with some sort of lid.Airlines may be able to get a bit innovative ?

Post by Doc J showing even other pax felt obliged to offer the cost for dry cleaning ?

Such a product does exist, although I wouldn't be too impressed to be served one...

Yes accidents do happen, but the recipient does not necessarily need to be the one paying for it. At very least, a laundry fee (or goods or points to a similar value) should be offered. If the strain didn't come out, then a new set of clothes may be warranted.
Couldn't agree more. My motto is chase everything. Don't let it go.

Just had the same thing happen to me last night TG J BKK > MEL. Tray of champagne split over my pants and seat. Hostess try to serve when passengers are getting on and someone barged past her; result soaked pants and seat. Performance of the staff all but pathetic. I was given three wet towels to dry myself off!! I waited until airborne as I know they are busy in their preps, but once up I had to call them to see if I could get some dry towels to do the job. From that point on it was avoidance from the staff for the whole trip, I watched them hand out the immigration cards but left me out. I moved seats, so lucky it was not full, but not a word from any of the TG staff even on leaving the aircraft. Thank God it was not red wine, but they will be hearing from me!

I would chase it with a polite email.

A colleague of mine once opened his y class meal to find a fly buzzing around under the foil - he was sent a $100 restaurant voucher.

Earlier his year I was on a Qf flight Hong Kong to Sydney and my ife stopped working mid movie and couldn't be revived. They offered to swap my seat with another passengers seat but I declined saying I would just go to sleep. The ife was operational again after I woke up. As we exited the aircraft we were handed two bottles of the wine we had been drinking :)

Both nice examples of customer service :)

Not wine, but travelling F on United SFO-SYD a few years ago, the male FA - shall we say a senior gent - had a tea pot in one hand and small milk jug in the other. While pouring milk into my cup he accidently tilted the teapot so it poured the tea over my lower legs (I was in semi recline mode). Fortunately I had a blanket over my legs so no harm done to me. But even though he knew darn well what had happened, he moved off without a word or anything else. I went to the galley and got some paper towels to mop up the remaining liquid.
