The WP shadow

I would be willing to give up my J seat for a seat in the coughpit. :) 4B empty again on a fairly full flight MEL-ADL. Shadow stuck all the way!
I will continue to remain skeptical that nothing has changed. This whole discussion is pure speculation and individual experiences based on luck not system changes.

I checked in ~50 minutes before my flight with seq # 186 and only 4 seats unallocated judging by seat map. There were 3 middle seats down the back as well as 29A. I was grateful to be in 4D but why are the 4 "shadows" down the back?

It was a gdoo flight though. Those around me must have thought I was an important person. I had CSM and 2 FAs constantly have a chat and ask me if I needed anything. And it was all to do with offering to assist by holding the items used in safety demonstration. ;)

Just got off QF686, and I once again have a free seat next to me. The plane was fairly full, with only about a dozen or so free seats. With 3 out of 3, I think I can say that the WP has made a come back.

Here's another reason why I believe this discussion is a waste of time.

Walked into BNE business lounge and waited to print boarding pass. Didn't hear the whole conversation but the last part went like this.

"How about 4B? You are up the front and it's a bulkhead. And you leave in an hours time."
"Yes thanks. "

This is the lounge supervisor. Yes I know the person is more than likely Platinum but 4B?

I can't believe they offer pax to seat in 4B, very disappointing move by QF!
At least now we know why sometimes there is no shadow in rows 4 & 5 even when the flight is not full.

It's not just the J lounge, you can select the B/E seats either online or at the kiosk.

I know that too well unfortunately...
There is still a difference between allowing pax to select any seat at T-80 and actually encouraging them to sit in 4B/E. It just shows QF couldn't care less about WP shadow.

I have never understood why someone would CHOOSE to sit in 4B or 4E when an aisle or window is available in numerous rows a short way behind..... it's utterly bizarre. I sit there shaking my head at them when it happens. I almost want to say 'WHY??? WHY HAVE YOU DONE THIS!?!?!?! ARE YOU INSANE?!?!?!?" but I bite my tongue

QF care about profit, and only profit. This becomes clearer every day.

Exactly my thoughts!!
I would always select ANY window/aisle before middle seat, not only for my own comfort but also considering the comfort of others.

Same here. I was offered a middle seat which would have got me to my destination 3 hours earlier than the alternative. I chose to wait.

I think if it were 3 hours difference I'd take the middle seat. 1-1.5 hours would be my pain threshold.

It also depends in which lounge you are going to wait until the next flight ;)
Give me one with good food and wine, maybe a short massage, and I'll be happy to wait 3 hours :)

Oh I was thinking short haul. I'm with you ok that one ;)
Sorry, I should have made it clear in my first post.

LH *G Senator lounge. I was quite happy there.

I don't do middle seats. It would have to be an emergency or the last flight of the night for me to accept a middle seat.
