Can't believe its been thirty years. As part of the "Indonesia International Skydiving Championship 1989" (and "Boogie in Bali" 
) a mass Sunset jump was made onto Kuta Beach. Most of the jumpers - about 450 - did a "hop and pop" from relatively low altitude, using 8 aircraft including Indonesian built Casa 212's and two Indonesian Air Force C-130's.... The rest of us (about 120) jumped in groups strung out along the beach from another C-130 at 12000 ft. Exit order for those groups was determined by what HOTEL you were staying at! The first photo I took on the way down with my group..... the second I took from under canopy as I made my approach to land. The triangular pool was at our hotel.... What a civilised and convenient way to finish a days Skydiving! Thirty years ago! Unbelievable. The third shot shows two of those brand new stretched Hercs we got to jump. The 4th shows me (a very young me) all geared up to film..... Good times.

My camera helmet weighed a bit! 35mm Still camera and Sony Digital 8 "Handycam"... The sight was a "Newton Ring Sight" …which uses optical principles I don't even pretend to understand..but in effect means it is free of parallax... if the helmet shifts slightly on your head, the concentric "interference" rings in the sight also "move" to retain the point of aim. FWIW the little koala on the right hand side was my "helmet cutaway" handle... pull that and the chin strap was released...shake your head and the helmet was gone.... (Glad I never had to use that!) I ended up damaging my neck on a camera jump... (had a very irregular and hard canopy opening...) stopped camera jumping after that..which was a pity because I was planning to mount a Mamiya 645 format camera to take some really good photos! Lol
