To seriously suggest that we should boycott a country merely because of a percieved (by some) miscarraige of justice is so damn stupid I can hardly believe it.

Would the same question be asked if the incident had occurred in, say the UK? NO.

Agree absolutely. Their system may be different, but the fact that it is different does not make it inherently unfair. (Without discussing the merits of this case either way).

Well, this has stirred up some 'opinion' ... hasn't it?

It seems, that there is plenty of opinion out there, and, external factors won't change that opinion previously conceived.

Thus, if people want to go to Bali... they will. It people think the Govt. of Indonesia is as fair and honest (?) as Australia... then, they'll go over there, and believe they are safe and secure etc. etc.

However, keep in mind the results of the 'poll' .... most respondants voted NO to ever going to Bali for a holiday!!!

We can probably leave it at that....

I voted no, but I never would have gone there anyway. Penang has all the attractions of Bali with nowhere near the number of tourists. I prefer places like London or Rome for my hols anyway.

Ummm, actually, no it doesn't.

A poor choice of words. Nothing wrong with simple questions, though some of the posts read like something from a Big Brother episode. Big on emotion with dubious value.

Perhaps, lets keep it civil people and agree to disagree is better?

I agree that the original question doesn't need to be asked, if only because it's off the point of what I thought this excellent site was about.

I discovered frequentflyer.com.au only today, and have just spent several hours exploring various threads - and learnt heaps. I thought I was weird because I want to know the ins and outs of QF's FF scheme (amongst others). Now I know I'm not alone :wink:

Seeing as it was mentioned above though, I was suprised by my check-in experience at SYD on my way to SIN last week (flying QF). Without prompting, the check-in attendant wrote my baggage weight on my boarding pass. Never had that happen before...

If the latter, please register me for yes. I had planned to visit friends in Bali early next year and fail to see any reason to reconsider these plans.

When logged on, you should be able to vote via some buttons at the top of the page next to the options.

If you aren't seeing the buttons then either a) your browser doesn't handle the page correctly b) you've already voted or c) the poll is closed.

Not sure which as I've already voted and thus only see the results.

People, consider Laos, no beaches but one of the most beautiful countries in the world.

Small population, only beginning to become touristed, and amazing food - Laos, French and Italian (a lot of Laos went to Europe after 'the difficulties' (revolution in '75).

I don't know where else you can get a 3 course french meal for 2, with wine (and some of the BEST french food I've ever eaten) for under USD20.

Laos Airlines fly an ex AN A320 VTE-BKK and also into Vietnam and Cambodia.

OT, I know.
